Indian warship INS Satpura arrives in Fiji

The INS Satpura, the first Indian warship to visit Fiji in four years arrived today

The arrival is seen as an effort by India to strengthen its presence within the Pacific region

following on from previous deployments of ships there which have had limited success

due largely because many countries feel disrespected by them

The visit will be a chance for people from both nations to strengthen their friendship and cooperation

The ship's crew has planned community outreach programmes as well

in addition with interactions they have while visiting senior defense leaderships of each country

The Indian Navy has proudly demonstrated its power and reach across the world

as it celebrates 75 years of independence with a deployment that includes ships in all six continents.

INS Satpura is an indigenously designed and built, 6,000-tonne guided missile stealth frigate equipped
